Polyethylene (PE) is an organic material with a structure similar to wood and vegetable fibers based on carbon and hydrogen. Already in the production process, PE materials are more eco-friendly than comparable paper labels or those made of other plastics since the production requires less energy. Polyethylene is free of softening agents and does not contain any halogens, chlorine, sulphur, silicones or heavy metals such as Cadmium, Lead or other stabilizers. PE labels are mainly used as moisture-resistant packing labels, labels in the food industry and on many sanitary items. Polyethylene is toxologically non-hazardous and foodstuffs compliant. The adhesive can be used in direct contact with dry, non-fatty foodstuffs, according to the BgVV guidelines.
